Natchez, Mississippi

Music from the corridor.
The machine behind it.

Recording. Radio play. Magazine coverage. A corridor of venues from Memphis to New Orleans. The music just has to be good.

Who We Work WithLive SessionsArtist platform →

What the machine does.

We already own a radio station, a magazine, a touring circuit, and a photography studio. Big Muddy Records is what happens when you point all of that at an artist.

Radio airplay. Magazine features. Touring bookings through the corridor. Professional photography and visual content. The recording is the beginning. The network is what moves it.

The corridor between Memphis and New Orleans produced more American music per mile than anywhere on earth. That music is still being made — in living rooms in Clarksdale, on front porches in Natchez, in the back of churches in Vicksburg. We record it and give it the infrastructure it deserves.

How It Works

The whole machine behind you.

We built the radio station, the magazine, the touring route, and the Inn. Every brand in the ecosystem points at the music. That's what we put behind the artists we work with.

Radio airplay

Live cuts and pre-release plays on Big Muddy Radio before a release drops.

Magazine coverage

Features, interviews, and photo essays in Big Muddy Magazine — earned media, not ads.

Touring and venue routing

Bookings through the Inn, Bobby J's, the Anthologist, and the broader corridor circuit.

The full network

Shows, photography, merch through Venture Gallery — the ecosystem works for the music.

Studio C

Where it gets made.

Studio C is the recording and production arm of Big Muddy Records. From live session captures to full production — this is where region music becomes something you can hold in your hands.

The Ecosystem

Big Muddy Records is one part of a larger media operation. Every release moves through the full network — radio, print, live, and online.

Big Muddy Radio

Playlists, live sessions, podcast — your release gets airtime before it drops.

Big Muddy Magazine

Features, interviews, photo essays — earned media, not just paid ads.

Big Muddy Touring

The Inn, the route, the audience already in the room when you arrive.

Venture Gallery

Art marketplace — merch, prints, limited vinyl. A second revenue channel.

Three recording venues: the Blues Room at the Big Muddy Inn, the Anthologist (record store, flower shop, and performance space on Main Street), and Bobby J's. Plus a Sprinter van for region tours, the radio show for pre-release cross-promotion, the Magazine for earned features and interviews, and Chase Pierson for photography and visual content. None of it billed separately.

Current Roster

Mechanical Bull

Active

Alt-Country / Southern Rock

Country, southern rock, and 70s California guitar tone out of Woodstock, NY. Chase Pierson, Avalon Peacock, Adam Widoff, Dave Malachowski, Chris Zaloom, George Quinn, J-Bird Bowman, Josh Pierson — and John Medeski on organ. Two albums deep.

Amy Allen

Active catalog

Soul / Blues / Storytelling

Solo catalog by the artist now also fronting Arrie Aslin. Songs that carry the weight of the region — the Rhythm Nightclub Fire, the river towns, the people who stayed.

Amy Scruggs

Catalog — same artist

Blues / Soul / Roots

Early-career catalog by the same artist (also performs as Amy Allen and now fronts Arrie Aslin). Mississippi-born, Deep South-raised — the kind of blues that doesn't ask permission.

Kate Skwire

Active

Folk / Americana / Singer-Songwriter

Quiet songs that hit hard. Kate writes like she's telling you something she's only going to say once — spare arrangements, honest vocals, stories that stick.

Jill Stevenson

Active

Americana / Folk / Roots

Songs built from the ground up — field recordings, old hymns, and the kind of writing that makes you pull over on Highway 61 to listen.

Arrie Aslin

Active — first single in production

Roots / Country / Blues — band project

Band project led by Amy Allen, channeling Arkansas roots and the Levon Helm tradition. Genre-spanning recording campaign with rotating producers — each song made in a different studio with different players, building catalog and relationships across markets. Lives at the Big Muddy Inn as the house band Rise Up — Tuesday night Blues Room residency, American Parlor Songbook, the kind of room people drive two hours for.
